Guests at Universal Orlando will get to test their courage and strength this spring as they perform pulse-pounding stunts in the new “Fear Factor Live” show opening at Universal Studios®.

Based upon the award-winning NBC program “Fear Factor”, Fear Factor Live marks the first time a reality television show will be transformed into a theme park experience. It is also the first NBC television product to be fully integrated into Universal’s theme parks.

Audience members will experience the thrill of the blockbuster series in a way they could not before: live. In each show, park guests will compete against each other in a progression of extreme stunts.

The parks are a casual, family-oriented environment. We suggest you dress comfortably, wear good walking shoes and check the local weather report before you leave for the parks.

Ensuring that the parks are family friendly is an important part of the Disney experience. In that spirit, we ask you to use your discretion and common sense. Attire that is not appropriate for the theme parks (and which may result in refusal of admittance) includes but is not limited to:

  • Adult costumes or clothing that can be viewed as representative of an actual Disney character
  • Masks (unless you are dressing up for a particular event)
  • Clothing with objectionable material, including obscene language or graphics
  • Excessively torn clothing
  • Clothing which, by nature, exposes excessive portions of the skin that may be viewed as inappropriate for a family environment
  • Objectionable tattoos

A Guest is allowed into the parks if her or his hair (or make-up, if applicable) has been made to resemble a Disney Princess or character provided the Guest is not also wearing a costume or clothed to look like the character.

Extended Disney park hours, known as Extra Magic Hours, offer a rare and unique opportunity to enjoy additional time in Walt Disney World parks—above and beyond the standard operating schedule—at no extra charge. This special perk is offered to Guests of select Walt Disney World Resort hotels.

He's the ultimate Walt Disney World insider, a cheerful friend who enhances a theme park visit with timesaving tips and fun facts. Who is he? Pal Mickey! Available for daily rental or purchase, Pal Mickey is a talking Mickey Mouse toy that entertains and assists guests in each of the four Theme Parks at Walt Disney World Resort -- Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disney-Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

Pal Mickey helps guests get the most out of a Walt Disney World holiday by bringing each Theme Park to life as a helpful tour guide. The huggable plush toy offers reminders about parades and show times, shares stories and trivia, recommends attractions, plays games and tells guests where to locate Disney characters. Each 10 1/2-inch Pal Mickey responds in all of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks.

Developed by Walt Disney Imagineering using advances in wireless communication, Pal Mickey is the latest Walt Disney World innovation to improve and enhance guest service with leading-edge technology.

"See the names written on those second-story windows?" Pal Mickey might say as guests stroll along Main Street, U.S.A. "Those folks helped Walt Disney build this Magic Kingdom!" In fact, the windows bear the names of key Disney cast members instrumental in the development of Walt Disney World Resort.

"Say, 'Fantasmic!' will be starting in about an hour," Pal Mickey might remind Disney-Hollywood Studios guests about the Park's popular nighttime spectacular. "If ya wanna see it, now's a good time to go grab a seat!"

Pal Mickey keeps the whole family entertained with Disney jokes and fun interactive games guests can initiate, whether waiting in line at the Theme Parks or relaxing in a hotel room -- even back at home.

Pal Mickey is available to all guests as a daily rental ($8 plus tax per day and a refundable $50 deposit) or as a purchase ($46.94 plus tax). Guests who wish to keep a rented Pal Mickey can simply take him home; the deposit will be used as the total purchase price with tax ($50).

Pal Mickey is offered at select sites in Disney's four Theme Parks and at merchandise locations in each of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels.

Walt Disney World guests will discover for themselves the fearsome legend of the yeti when Expedition EVEREST -- a new high-speed train adventure that combines coaster-like thrills with the excitement of a close encounter of the hairy kind -- opens in 2006 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

The Expedition EVEREST adventure begins when guests board an old mountain railway destined for Mount Everest. The train rolls through thick bamboo forests, past thundering waterfalls, along shimmering glacier fields and climbs higher and higher through the snow-capped peaks.

Suddenly the thrills intensify as the train races both forward and backward through mountain caverns and icy canyons as guests head for an inevitable face-to-muzzle showdown with the mysterious yeti -- known to some as the abominable snowman.

Nearly 200 feet high, Expedition EVEREST will be located in the Asia section of the theme park.

For many Guests, love for a family pet is just as strong as it is for other members of the family -- perhaps stronger. And because no holiday is complete without souvenirs, Walt Disney World is opening a new store with Fido in mind. Disney Tails opened July 1 at Downtown Disney Marketplace next to Pooh Corner. The new merchandise location specializes in pet care products that feature a Disney flair including fun toys, fresh baked animal treats and personalized options for the fur-bearing friend.

The Walt Disney Company is celebrating Mickey Mouse’s 75th anniversary with an exhibit of 75 6-foot tall, 700-pound statues of the famous mouse – each uniquely designed by a lineup of celebrity participants.

Appropriately dubbed “Celebrate Mickey: 75 InspEARations,” the statue program brings together Disney legends, artists, actors, athletes, performing artists and painters who lent their creative inspiration to 75 original statues of Mickey Mouse. Popular figures such as Sir Elton John, John Travolta, Tom Hanks, Shaquille O’Neal, Ben Affleck, Jamie Lee Curtis and Kelly Ripa participated.

All 75 statues will be on display at locations across the Walt Disney World Resort through April 2004. Afterward, the statues will visit cities across the U.S.A. before they are displayed at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, in fall 2004.

Sotheby’s will auction the 75 statues in 2005 with all proceeds benefiting charities chosen by each statue’s artist.

Dates: November 26, 2010 - December 30, 2010

Special Event at Disney's Hollywood Studios™

Winter 2010

The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights on the Streets of America at Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park is a breathtaking seasonal display featuring millions of glittering lights perfectly synchronized to holiday music.

The lights are so extensive you may find it hard to comprehend their magnitude. Entire buildings are blanketed in sheets of multi-colored lights, and thousands more lights form twirling carousels, heavenly angels, and even Santa and his reindeer. Approximately every 10 minutes, the lights dim and then dramatically spring to life — dynamically choreographed to traditional holiday music. You have to see the effect to believe it!

Some nights, if you truly believe in holiday magic, the show is capped off with an enchanted flurry of snow.

The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights started modestly in Arkansas as a single home's annual display. Every year, Jennings Osborne and his family set up an elaborate collection of holiday lights and over the years, the collection of lights grew, and grew... and grew! In 1995, the Osborne family decided to share their magic with the world, and Walt Disney World Resort happily offered to become the new permanent home for this exceptional exhibition of holiday cheer.

The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights is included with standard admission to Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park.
